POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Maintenance Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and well-functioning environment both inside and outside the YMCA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- To provide and maintain safe, clean and functional facilities which offer the creature comforts for our members and staff daily.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to ensure that all necessary repairs or improvements are completed in a timely fashion.
- Maintain all YMCA vehicles assigned to the branch (if applicable) according to specified guidelines.
- Hire, train, and supervise all maintenance and cleaning staff.
- Maintain all appropriate records for the maintenance department, including reporting to Executive Director and/or Metro staff as required and/or necessary.
- Prepare and manage departmental budget within specified guidelines.
- Plan and implement an annual schedule for preventive and regular maintenance of all YMCA property at or assigned to the branch.
- Act as first responder for any Branch facility emergency, including inclement weather.
- Performs hand-on maintenance tasks related to facility and equipment up-keep and repair, and secures appropriate outside assistance for maintenance issues beyond their capability.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all Maintenance/Housekeeping employees in the designated branch. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Some branches may be structured so that this position has no supervisory responsibility.

- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and pool maintenance needed.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid, Blood borne pathogen training required after hire and must remain current.
Salary : $23 - $26
