Special Needs Program Aide is responsible for assisting the Special Needs Instructors in the classroom of adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities
- Assist the teachers in presenting the R.E.C.E.S.S. program materials.
- Assist in ensuring that there is proper oversight in classroom at all times.
- Assist in maintaining safe and positive environment for students.
- Assist in maintaining classroom ratios at all times.
- Assist with mobility of students.
- Operate a 14 passenger mini-bus.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
- Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
- Follow mandated reporting requirements
- Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License with the ability to operate a 14 passenger mini-bus.
- Some curriculum/course work in Special Education.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with special needs individuals.
- Must have loving & compassionate spirit.
- Ability to assist in managing class room of at least 20 special needs adults.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also work as a member of a team.
