Title: Housekeeping Attendant
Status: Full-Time
Reports to: Property Director
Job Responsibilities:
- Professional DemeanorThe housekeeping supervisor represents the YMCA of Hannibal in a positive, professional manner to the community. Attention to detail is key. The overnight staff must be self-motivated and the day-time staff must be able to interact positively with members, guests and fellow staff. Timely Completion of projects is key.
- Experience – Experience with the operation of cleaning equipment and other basic Housekeeping skills and management of staff are helpful. Training will be provided.
- Essential Functions–This position requires some physical activity such as cleaning bathrooms, locker rooms and, carrying supplies and equipment, and the ability to handle pressure washers and floor cleaners. The ability to lift at least 50 pounds is necessary. This position also requires bending over for periods of time and dealing with chemicals.
- Punctuality/Schedule – Housekeepers are asked to work scheduled hours. They must be on time for scheduled shifts at all times. This position must be available to work days, night and weekends. They must be available to close at least once a week. The supervisor is required to work shifts that are not covered by staff members (if appropriate).
Housekeepers will get off work earlier or later to adjust with the workload. Must be able to work weekends and holidays if asked.
- Chemicals- All staff will be given a housekeeping training course and also a cleaning class with our main chemical supplier.
- Check – Must be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug test.
Specific Responsibilities
· Attend all scheduled meetings
· Be punctual for all shifts
· Maintain open communication with your Property Director and co-workers
· Ensure all special projects (i.e. pool deck power washing, hot tub cleaning, etc.,) are executed when scheduled.
· Interact positively with the general public.
· Responsible for the daily checklists as developed by the Property Director. The overnight and day-time staff will have their own individual lists of regularly scheduled tasks (developed in coordination with the Property Director), some of which include:
o Cleaning floors in all areas of the building.
o Empty waste receptacles in all areas/rooms.
o Clean lobby
o Clean and disinfect sinks, urinals, toilets and mirrors in all areas/rooms.
o Spot clean partitions, walls, windows, tables, etc.
o Other duties/tasks as determined by the Housekeeping Director.
· Obsessive with cleanliness, speed of equipment repair and customer service.
· Perform daily maintenance tasks and special projects as assigned.
· Act as a member of the staff team by setting up/taking down equipment for programs, meetings, special events and other Housekeeping logistical needs.
· Be alert to risk management and repair/respond to safety issues immediately.
· Model the Y’s core values Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith with members, guests, special groups and fellow staff.
· Attend monthly meetings with the Property Director.
· Communicates repair needs out of the scope of their ability to Property Director.
· Must be in uniform at all times. Shirt, black pants, tennis shoes and name tag.
· A neat and clean appearance is required at all times. Pants must be clean and in good conditions with no holes, tears or rips and must be worn at the natural waist or above. Post earrings are ok, but hoops and dangles are not.
· Responsibilities of informing Property Director of needed inventory, scheduling staff and, when needed, ordering items that are needed.
· Making sure staff members are all trained and ready to work once hired.
· Help with Shutdown and Tom- N- Becky each year and must be available the full time of event.

· Act as Building Supervisor as scheduled
Restrictions
- All employees are required to work at least 8 hours per month to maintain complimentary membership status.
- All other guidelines must be followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
Skills, Education and Experience:
· High School degree required
· Friendly and outgoing personality
· Exceptional member/ guest service
· Passion for the YMCA core values
· Experience in Management, Scheduling, and Housekeeping skills
· First- Aid and CPR Certification required or acquired within 90 days of start date.
· Direct experience working with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
· Attention to detail
Physical Qualifications:
· Speaking, hearing, seeing, reading, writing, computer skills, typing, lifting, walking, standing, cleaning, and other necessary skills needed for certifications.
Working Conditions:
· Instructors will work with various types of members. Work performed inside, outside of building, days and nights.
· Must have flexible schedule to include day, evenings and weekends and closing shifts.
