PAY RANGE:
$17.00 - $19.00 Hourly

11am-2pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Kupuna Program Activity Leader works directly with Kupuna Program Meal Site Coordinator with planning and executing activities Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Monthly activity plans will need to be submitted to the site coordinator. Activity leader will also aid in meal distribution on designated meal distribution days. Planned activities must ensure it meets the intended goals of the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
- Works with supervisor to manage daily operations of grant funded Kupuna Program. Assists meal site coordinator with planning and executing kupuna centered activities Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Also assist with meal distribution on designated program days.
- Works with supervisor to ensure Kupuna Program and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Works with supervisor to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate and food handling; ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, program members, caregivers, and community organizations (e.g., Tai Chi, Elderly Affairs, meal vendors) to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Organizes or participates in Y activities, such as committees, special events, and fundraising.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 18years of age
- TB Clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Food Handler certification within first 30 days of hire.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
Skills & Knowledge:
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
- One to two years related experience (e.g., food service, group exercise, Kupuna Programs) preferred.)
- Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Education & Training:
- First Aid, CPR, AED certification obtained within 3 months of hire
- Completion of various YMCA trainings within the allotted time frame after hire
