Youth Soccer Official

The Soccer Official is a critical role on our fields; responsible for enforcing rules while cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the program. This role has a direct impact on the success of each game and the experience players, coaches, and spectators have throughout the season. 

Responsibilities

• Understand & enforce the rules books and ensuring the safety of all players.
• Ensuring a positive experience by creating a fun atmosphere while providing an opportunity of growth and development for each player and coach. 
• Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship behavior.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
• Ensuring all YMCA polices are being adhered to including policies outlined in the abuse prevention handbook and player/coach code of conduct.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & solve problems
• Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players.
• Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
• Ability to work a varied work schedule including weekends with the potential some evenings (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks).
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, attend pre-season meetings and complete all abuse prevention training prior to the first game.

Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee or volunteer will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service. Further, this organization will fully cooperate with law enforcement throughout the investigation and resolution of mistreatment or abuse incidents.
