Position Summary:
The Business Analyst is responsible for developing and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all programs within Centralized Childcare, including enrollment, budgeting, staffing, and other critical data that supports the YMCA’s strategic operational and organizational goals. This position plays a key role in optimizing program efficiency and effectiveness by providing data-driven insights. The Business Analyst reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with childcare leadership, providing reports, data, and analytics directly to them.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop, track, and analyze KPIs for enrollment, budgeting, staffing, and other operational areas within Centralized Childcare.
- Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Create and maintain dashboard reports to monitor trends, identify gaps, and suggest areas for improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Work closely with childcare leadership, providing reports, data, and analytics to inform decision-making.
Financial & Budget Analysis
- Assist in the development of budget and forecasts based on historical data and future projections.
- Monitor and assess financial performance metrics, identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth strategies.
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency of childcare programs.
Operational & Strategic Support
- Collaborate with program directors and leadership to improve operational efficiencies and program effectiveness.
- Maintains tracking around enrollment and staffing growth and retention.
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements that enhance service delivery and resource allocation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve childcare program performance.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work cross-functionally with senior leadership, finance, marketing, HR, and program teams to align operational goals.
- This position will also support other business operations units as a secondary function.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Support data-driven decision-making through clear and actionable insights.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, financial analysis, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
- Experience working with budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in nonprofit or childcare program analysis is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to travel locally to various YMCA program sites as required.

Pay range: $50,000 - $60,000
