The Mid-South is seeking an energetic and inspiring Dance Instructor to join our team. In this role, you’ll inspire participants to develop their skills and confidence in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. Through high-quality instruction, you’ll foster a love for dance while building a sense of community and promoting the YMCA’s mission of strengthening youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach tailored dance lesson plans
- Ensure participant safety and enjoyment
- Assist with recital and performance choreography
- Build positive relationships with participants and parents
- Maintain class attendance records
- Participate in YMCA meetings and events
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- High school graduate or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
- At least 12 months of dance training (prior teaching experience preferred).
- Must obtain CPR/AED & First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire
- Flexible schedule (evenings and weekends)
- Ability to relate and work with diverse groups
- Passion for teaching dance and promoting youth development

Work Environment:
This role requires physical activity, including climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended
periods. Instructors must be comfortable working with mechanical equipment and light chemical
cleaning elements. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is also required.
