What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director - Youth Development position at YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work as part of a dynamic, caring and hopeful team to lead a cohort of school aged services staff ensuring high-quality programs where students experience achievement, belonging and relationships. Specifically in this role, the Program Director 2 will oversee a group of before & after school care and summer programs in Shelby County (Memphis), TN, West Tennessee or North Mississippi.

This person must understand the basic concepts, vision and mission of the YMCA to ensure the successful operation of these programs and the development of new program initiatives including staff leadership and development, community relations and collaborations, partnerships and policy, budgeting and financial results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership:
- Lead & supervise a team of program leaders and develop a culture of leadership development to build a pipeline of directors and lead teachers at all locations. This includes regular site visits and coaching sessions to provide developmental feedback.
- Directs and supervises assigned school-based afterschool and summer youth programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Ensure the administration of curriculum and high-quality programming to kids and families through assigned leaders at program locations
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
- Ensure that the program operates per quality, licensing and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and good communication with all stakeholders, specifically principals, school district leaders and community members.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all participant and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends at certain times of year.

Financial Management:
- Supervise the annual financial operating budgets for designated operations. Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and ensure successful management of designated programs resulting in an annual balanced fiscal operation for the Association.
Payroll & Time Management:
- Oversee and review employee timecard submissions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field or an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training, and/or education.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing programs (designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development programs) to include some experience supervising staff
- Ability to meet DHS licensing requirements

WORK SCHEDULE:
The full-time work schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday though evenings, and weekends work may be required. Hours will vary based on the before and after school and camp schedules.
