The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is looking for dedicated Summer Food Associates to support our Summer Food Program. This role is responsible for assisting with food distribution, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining food quality while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adhere to delivery schedules, and troubleshoot issues as needed. This position requires traveling up to an hour to and from assigned sites and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal distribution at designated sites.
- Ensure the accurate count and distribution of meals.
- Maintain detailed records of meal distribution and program compliance.
- Provide professional and courteous interaction with customers, staff, and program participants.
- Follow delivery schedules and perform tasks efficiently under fast-paced conditions.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during distribution.
- Ensure food quality and safety are maintained throughout service.
- Lift, carry, and/or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
- Stand or sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and stooping.
- Commute up to an hour to and from assigned food distribution locations.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Summer Food Program.
Qualifications & Requirements:
