Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Sr. Workforce Development Coordinator and centered around the Two Generation (2Gen) program (a State of Tennessee TANF initiative), the Wrap Around Support Specialist is responsible for customizing services and supports to help families - that are eligible for the State of Tennessee’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program - overcome barriers to childcare, transportation, health and wellness, and affordable housing. The Wrap Around Support Specialist will assist in administering initiatives to achieve specific 2Gen objectives and ensure deliverables of the grant are satisfied and properly documented, including providing services to five thousand (5000) eligible, unduplicated, low-income Families, non-custodial parents, and children ages six (6) weeks to twelve (12) years of age residing in Fayette, Hardeman, Haywood, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton counties during the term of the contract.

Essential Functions
- Work in partnership with the Families First staff and partners to develop a relational, family-focused strategy with the outcome of increasing social capital, education, economic mobility and health and well-being of families with children (in adherence to federal TANF goals).
- Assist in recruiting Families First program participants.
- Be knowledgeable of and implement the intake process for each family.
- Carry a caseload of families and provide holistic, family-focused services using the Two Generation (2Gen) program, a State of Tennessee TANF initiative.
- Work closely with families on their journey to self-sufficiency through coaching and goal setting.
- Support families’ advancement in areas including health and wellness, education, social capital workforce development, economic support and other areas specific to individualized needs.
- Conduct intake assessments and administer evaluations to monitor and document each family’s progress.
- Keep thorough and organized documentation of caseload efforts and execute accurate data collection to ensure effective, data-driven program implementation.
- Serve as an expert resource for participating families and nonprofit partners on barriers to completing goals relating to housing, finances, career, education, childcare, healthcare, etc.
- Ensure fidelity to the Families First contracted services, models of care coordination, and compliance with all state grant regulations and requirements.
- Work with the Families First trainers to engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant work and/or volunteer experience. Lived experience relevant to this role will also be considered and can substitute for educational experience. 3 years’ experience working with low-income families.
- Microsoft Office proficiency. Competence with database entry and computer/technology systems.
- Ability to build long-term relationships with participating families.
- Basic knowledge of resource access and coordinating services.
- Ability to travel between program sites and other places in the Greater Memphis Area to meet participants and partners, access resources, etc.
- This full-time position is generally Monday through Friday.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate information sessions.
- Frequent travel throughout the region.
- This is a grant funded position contingent upon funding.
