PURPOSE OF POSITION :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general direction of the Center Director, the Parking Lot Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming, warm and safe environment for members and guests as soon as they enter our parking lots. Parking lot attendants will be responsible for welcoming, greeting and assisting all members and guests that visit our Y facilities. Parking lot attendants will have use of a golf cart for each Center to assist in transporting guests and members to and from their cars as well as being mobile around the Center and parking lot.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Greet and assist all members and guests in the parking lot, particularly those with children or older members that may need assistance entering and exiting the building.
- Create a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for our Y’s, beginning in the parking lot and leading to the entrance to the building. This will entail greeting guests and members, asking if they need assistance and making sure everyone feels welcome.
- Be visible, alert and present to all members and guests in the outside areas of the center.
- Monitor parking lots and YMCA center perimeter to ensure safety of members and guests.
- Keep the outside area free of litter and trash.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
WORK SCHEDULE : The work schedules may vary per the Y’s hours of operation. Most Y’s are open 7 days a week : Mon. – Fri. 5 : 00 a.m. – 8 : 00 p.m.Sat. 8 : 00 a.m. – 6 : 00 p.m. Sun. 1 : 00 p.m. – 6 : 00 p.m.Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays
