Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Afterschool Counselor to join our team at the Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA. As a Site Counselor, you will be responsible for leading assigned groups in various planned activities to support the overall goals of the program. Your duties will include planning and implementing activities for elementary age children that builds upon the skills needed to be successful in school.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Child Development, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with school-age children in a group setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
