Responsibilities
As a Early Learning Teacher Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with the Lead Teacher to create high-quality lesson plans that align with DCFS, ExceleRate Illinois, NAEYC, and YMCA standards
* Providing support to the classroom team, including families, volunteers, and colleagues, to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
* Maintaining awareness and supervision of children's physical health and safety at all times
* Building strong relationships with parents and families through effective communication and partnership-building strategies
* Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 6 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education
* Prior experience working with children, preferably in an early childhood setting
* Basic knowledge of child growth and development, as well as developmentally appropriate practices for children aged 2-5
