Position Overview: As an Assistant Camp Director, you will:
- Assist the Camp Director in daily operations and management of the summer camp.
- Ensure campers are divided into age-appropriate groups and that daily activities are implemented.
- Train and supervise part-time Camp Group Leaders with the assistance of the Camp Director.
- Manage opening and closing responsibilities, including pick-up and check-out procedures.
- Assist with supply inventory, ordering, storage management, and coordination of grounds maintenance.
- Ensure safety, supervision, and implementation of programs for campers, including swimming days.
- Maintain accurate daily counts of children and create pre-made samples of daily activities.
- Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Must meet state licensing standards with the Texas Department of Safety and Health Services or Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
- Minimum age: 18 years; High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher education.
- At least 1 year of previous management experience in childcare.
- Ability to work outdoors for most of the day and lead activities, including swimming days.
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to serve as a role model for youth.
