Position Overview: As a Summer Camp Director, you will:
- Oversee daily operations and management of the summer camp.
- Divide campers into age-appropriate groups and ensure implementation of daily activities.
- Train and supervise part-time Day Camp Group Leaders.
- Manage opening and closing responsibilities, including pick-up and check-out procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily counts of children and manage supply expenses and inventory.
- Ensure safety, supervision, and implementation of programs for campers, including swim days.
- Foster creativity and intellectual curiosity through planned activities.
- Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Must qualify for state license (Texas Department of Safety and Health Services or Texas Department of Health and Human Services).
- Minimum age: 21 years; High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher education.
- 1 year of previous childcare experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of full-time experience in licensed childcare with 70 credit hours of relevant training.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry at least 30 pounds, and work outdoors.
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to serve as a role model for youth.
