What are the responsibilities and job description for the FACILITY - Housekeeper/Janitor position at YMCA OF METROPOLITAN DALLAS?
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Housekeeper/Janitor will insure that the Facility is maintained, clean, safe, operational, and attractive to members satisfaction.
He/she will sweep, mop, dust, and clean the facility daily to meet members needs. Clean and maintain floors, carpets, walls, windows, tiled areas, showers, restrooms and other surfaces of facility. Ensure that supplies such as soap and paper towels are replaced regularly, and that waste is emptied. Performs all housekeeping duties. Reports building problems. Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies. Utilize preventative maintenance and cleaning schedule for purpose of maintaining equipment and keeping facility in operational peak performance. Duties will include deep cleaning projects on an monthly, quarterly and annual schedule.
Six months or more experience in housekeeping work. Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment. Basic knowledge of maintenance helpful. Ability to operate carpet cleaner, leaf blower and power washer. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions. Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems. Ability to handle demanding individuals in a calm and courteous manner.
Mid-day, late evening and weekend hours available. Must be able to work Sundays.
