POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Adventure Zone Captain, the Representative will be responsible for implementing all curriculum and program activities in the area of Adventure Zone. In addition, the Representative will help deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide careful and attentive supervision for all participants in program
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios as per rules of YMCA of Metropolitan Denver
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Adventure Zone, meeting all YMCA policies
- Provide positive continual interaction with all children in the program
- Maintain open and positive communication with parents, members, and staff
- Proactively clean up areas used by the program
- Attend and remain current on all mandatory training and staff meetings
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger to handle or feel objects, tools, controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and taste and smell
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities are required including accurate sight up close, distant, peripheral and ability to focus
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate but may be moderate to high
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 15 years old or older
- Certified in First aid and CPR within 30 days of hire date
- Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults
- Prior experience working with young children e.g., babysitting, church Sunday school, etc. preferred
