Job Description
As a Camp Experience Specialist, you’ll deliver engaging Outdoor Education programs and host guests through special retreat services. This flexible role offers 5 to 6 hour shifts in the mornings and afternoons throughout the week. You’ll be responsible for creating memorable experiences while serving as a positive role model, fostering respect and creating a welcoming environment for participants and staff.
Special Amenities: Part-time staff are eligible for shared on-site housing, receive a free YMCA membership with access to all our gyms and group fitness classes, and get 25% off programs like childcare, sports, camps, aquatics, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
- Guide students and adults through our extensive and dynamic trails, providing outdoor education experiences.
- Implement educational programs that align with the school district's curriculum.
- Facilitate team-building exercises for youth groups and corporate retreats.
- Clean and organize workspaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Follow all YMCA policies, including medical, disciplinary, and emergency procedures.
- Report incidents or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
- Inspect activity areas to ensure safety and establish boundaries for participants.
- Foster respect and positive interactions among all participants and staff.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be a role model for others.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal communication that can connect with a wide ranging age demographic.
- Showcase enthusiasm and creativity while implementing programs.
- Lead and inspire small group activities in our dynamic camp setting.
- Willingness to learn and implement simple educational programs.
- Ability to handle diverse responsibilities in a camp environment.
- Background in childcare or education is a plus.
- Bilingual is also a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Afternoon shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
