The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is partnering with LAUSD to offer after-school enrichment programs for high school students (grades 9-12) on campuses throughout the area. We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Specialty Enrichment Instructors to lead engaging, skill-based clubs that inspire and empower teens.
In this role, instructors will design and facilitate dynamic after-school clubs that foster learning, creativity, and personal growth. Clubs will typically consist of 15-20 students, providing a supportive environment for exploration and development. Instructors are expected to build meaningful connections with students, collaborate with supervisors to plan engaging programs, and create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

- Music: Singing, Choir/Chorale, DJing, Music Production, Drumming, Guitar, Piano, Cultural Appreciation
- Theater: Playwriting, Stage Production, Musical Theater, Acting
- Dance: Hip Hop, Folclrico, Cheer, Jazz, Ballet, Step
- Specialized Arts: Foreign Language, American Sign Language
- Specialized Sports: Flag Football, Lacrosse, Rugby, Martial Arts, Yoga, Skateboarding
- STEM: Coding, App Development, Website Design, Robotics, Esports, Photography, Videography, Audio Engineering, Sound Mixing, Graphic Design
The YMCA will provide all needed materials, supplies and equipment for enrichment clubs.
This part-time position pays $20-$25 per hour. Instructors are expected to work 2-6 hours per week during the school year, with potential for additional hours based on program needs. Clubs typically meet once or twice a week during after-school hours (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM). Work locations include Northridge Academy High School and/or Valley Academy for Arts and Sciences in Northridge, CA. Reliable transportation is required to travel between schools.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in a relevant discipline
- Availability on school days for 2-6 hours per week, with possible additional hours during school breaks
- Participation in paid trainings, special events, and professional development sessions throughout the year

To support a smooth onboarding process, hired candidates will receive a free TB Test clearance before their first shift. Additionally, the YMCA covers the cost of CPR/First Aid certification, which must be completed within 60 days of hire.
