As a vital member of our Mission Advancement Team and under the direction of the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications and the Chief Mission Advancement Officer. The Director of Marketing and Communications role supports carrying out the initiatives of the Mission Advancement and Membership Teams to ensure the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles continues to grow its audience and its revenue while building a strong brand presence across the LA region.

What You'll Do:
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with Senior Dir. MarCom to ensure consistent messaging.
- Work across departments to support and align with Membership and Mission Advancement initiatives
- Work alongside graphic designers to create marketing materials, newsletters, and social assets.
- Plan, design, and oversee the production of marketing and membership collateral.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategic marketing communications calendar.
- Coordinate internal communications, in partnership with HR team and strategy.
- Create and distribute flyers, social media posts, and external communications materials.
- Partner with funders and sponsors to meet communication needs and requirements.
- Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Manage and mentor Marketing Coordinator to achieve objectives and build employee capacity.
What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in a communications or marketing position.
- Knowledge and experience in non-profit fundraising and/or sales industry required.
- Hybrid Position: 3 days a week in the office.
- Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
- Demonstrated expertise in both internal and external communications, from strategy development to implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of social media management and content creation.
- Experience in creating visuals through Canva, and/or Adobe Suite required.
- Proficiency in using email marketing platforms like Constant Contact, Active Campaign, MailChimp, etc.
- Proven experience collaborating across different business functions and engaging with various stakeholders.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Interpersonal and Written
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for and understanding of the organization's mission.
