The YMCA Teen Department is hiring a SEASONAL Teen Programs Coordinator!

As a SEASONAL Teen Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind our teen programs and initiatives in partnership with the El Monte City School District. You will execute our Model United Nations Program at Middle Schools through the El Monte City School District. This will create opportunities for teens to discover their passions, build valuable skills, and make meaningful connections.

THIS POSITION IS FROM JANUARY TO MAY 2025
What You'll Do:
- Develop a robust recruitment strategy to enlist new student participants into the program
- Write and carry out day-to-day curriculum and lesson plans relating to MUN
- Directly provide instruction for youth in the above lesson plan subject area using creative hands-on project-based approaches

The schedule for this position is
- Monday - Thursday 2 pm - 6 pm
- Must be able to travel between worksites reliably
- Must attend the First Conference on March 21-22, 2025, and the Second Conference on April 25-27, 2025
About You:
- Must be 21 or older
- Previous experience working with teens in a leadership or mentoring role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm for implementing innovative programs
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teen staff leaders
- Ability to be a YMCA Driver preferred (valid Driver's License & ability to pass driver physical, background, & driving tests)
- Commitment to inclusivity, ensuring every member feels welcome
- Current Adult & Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR Certification from ASHI, American Red Cross or American Heart Association or willingness to obtain the certification within 30 days of hire
