Position Summary:
Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Property Director, the Specialty Maintenance Technicianis responsible for the maintenance and security of the building, vehicles, pool, and grounds at the center. The Specialty Maintenance Tech will ensure the equipment, grounds, and building remain exceptionally clean, safe, attractive, and functional.
Essential Functions:

Ensure safe and risk-free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants
Create an environment at the center that welcomes members and provides a clean and positive experience
Interior work may include cleaning, deep cleaning, painting, and furniture assembly
Walk the grounds and parking lot to ensure that litter has been property discarded
Report any safety violations immediately
Participate in assigned Facility Dude work orders including Preventative Maintenance related work orders
Assist in room changes, meeting set up, or event set up
Perform various other light electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance related tasks indoors and outdoors as directed
Assist with all major building and facility repairs
Utilize power tools and heavy machinery as needed in order to provide maintenance support
Provide maintenance and repairs on program equipment and pool
Communicate to supervisor if inventory of supplies and equipment is low
Assist with or communicate to vendors regarding any outsourced projects or grounds keeping for the Center
Ensure safety in all programs by making sure that all equipment and items used are maintained and repaired in a timely manner
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Build relationships and interact with members

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Minimum 18 years of age
Five years' work experience in cleaning and maintenance field work, power & hand tools, hardware and construction materials, tools and processes
Experience in cleaning, and using cleaning chemicals, including safety procedures
Experience using power tools and heavy machinery preferred
Experience with pool mechanics and chemicals preferred
Certifications Required:
Within 30 days of hire: CPR Pro/ First Aid/ AED
Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training
Within six months of hire: Certified Pool Operators certification
Within six months of hire: Complete course training and Certify in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
