Job Overview
The YMCA's before and after school program, Club Kid, is looking for fun and energetic individuals who love to keep children engaged, happy and safe.
General Functions:
Under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor/Head Counselor and under the leadership of the Program Director, Counselors will carry out duties necessary to the daily function of the program.
Qualifications:
1. Experience working with children
2. Be at least 17 years of age or older
3. Have, or be willing to obtain, First Aid and CPR Certificate
4. Must be fingerprint cleared and cleared through the NYS Central Clearance
5. Be willing to update physical and TB test as the NYS Office of Children and Families Services dictates
Specific Duties:
Assist in planning a balanced program for group-consisting of games, crafts, outdoor and indoor team building activities.
Assist in taking daily attendance/daily health checks and homework.
Report any changes in behavior, attitudes, or specific problems with the children.
Understand the YMCA's mission and policies related to admission, payments, accidents and incidents.
Be responsible for proper care of equipment and facility.
Attend staff meetings and conference days as scheduled.
Be willing to work at a different sites at the discretion of the Program Director or as needed.
