POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Youth Development, the Director of Strategic Youth Operations is
responsible for the day-to-day functions of the branch ensuring a successful business operation
and high-quality programming. The Director of Strategic Youth Operations will supervise kitchen, grounds and janitorial functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the daily operations of the youth development center and offsite locations, ensuring high-quality programming and compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Expands programs within the community in alignment with strategic and operating plans.
- Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates staff and volunteers. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve program goals.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels to maintain licensing and accreditation requirements, including teacher-to-child ratios. Including but not limited to daily staff scheduling.
- Develops, manages, and monitors program budgets. Ensures financial sustainability by maintaining fiscal responsibility and fee collection.
- Ensures compliance with state and local regulations, YMCA program standards, and safety procedures.
- Oversees facility maintenance and cleanliness, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Acts as the primary contact for janitorial and custodial staff, as well as kitchen personnel.
- Manages all hiring procedures and provides human resources support for the youth development programs.
- Builds and maintains relationships with school administrations, regulatory bodies, parent groups, and community organizations.
- Leads and supports fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
- Organizes and facilitates program marketing, distribution of program information, and family engagement activities.
- Collects and analyzes program data to evaluate effectiveness and participation rates.
- Develops and executes special events and family nights to promote youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living.
- Handles call-ins and schedules staff to ensure proper coverage and operational continuity.
- Reviews and approves work requests and staff time-off requests to maintain adequate staffing levels and ensure seamless program operations.
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance and good standing in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). These visits help ensure that participating sites adhere to program requirements, including meal patterns, record-keeping, and operational guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in ECE/Child Development or equivalent (a completed bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 36 credit hours Early Childhood/Child Development coursework) is required. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Child Development preferred.
- Training in leadership, management, or administration
- Minimum three years of experience mentoring or supervising teachers or pre-service teachers.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
segments of the community. - Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with the ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
