SUMMARY
Assist the VP of Finance and HR in carrying out the daily responsibilities and routines of the MSO (Management Service Organization). The YMCA of Muncie is the MSO for the Indiana Alliance for other partner YMCAs offering Accounting and Payroll Services. The MSO Accounting Clerk will be assisting the needs of the YMCA by performing the following duties:
- Use bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets and software
- Post financial transactions using appropriate computer software
- Enter debits and credits into software applications and databases accurately
- Process a variety of reports
- Process payroll as needed
- Maintain employee/payroll records and database
- Maintain employee files and payroll records
- Present employee orientations
- Check for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
- Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in records
- Maintain purchase orders/invoices
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, GL account numbers, and approval prior to payment
- Enter invoices in accounts payable system
- Prepare check payment file
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Reconcile bank statements
- Maintain updated W9s for vendors
- Assist with annual audit
- Assist with other projects as needed
- Present a professional manner through a neat and clean appearance and workspace
- Respect the confidentiality of all information concerning employees and volunteers
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate Degree in Accounting, or Certified Bookkeeper
- 2 years of Accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
- Knowledge and comfort with Microsoft products, bookkeeping and payroll software
- Self-motivation and excellent problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Must be highly organized
- CPR, First Aid Certificate and Child Abuse Prevention within 30 days of employment
- Must have integrity
