Summary of the Job Description:
The YMCA of Newark is seeking part time Janitorial/Housekeeping Attendants responsible for the entire facility to be maintained in a clean, sanitary, safe and pleasant environment. General duties include but not limited to sanitizing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and window cleaning. The individual must ensure completion of assigned cleaning tasks within each scheduled shift. Must follow safety protocol and COVID procedures. The YMCA’s recruitment process includes comprehensive background screening including pre-employment drug test and criminal background check and upon hire, wide range of training. All staff will be required to model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in their work each day.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum two years of experience in housekeeping/ janitorial/maintenance work.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping techniques, proper use of maintenance and housekeeping equipment.
- Ability to follow specific guidelines and schedules for cleaning and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent human relation skills are necessary to demonstrate a cordial and helpful demeanor to all YMCA staff, residents, members and visitors.
Physical Demand: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 70 lbs. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions outdoor and indoor locations.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: 8am -2pm
