Overview
Under the supervision of the Resident Camp Director, the Assistant Resident Camp Director helps oversee the day-to-day operations at YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake. This position includes supporting our frontline summer staff and being a role model for the seasonal leadership staff team in addition to ensuring a high quality, safe and fun camper experience.
Pay Rate: $650.00/week. This position requires you to live at camp. Room and board are included.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Resident Camp Director with the daily operations of camp, including programming, staff and camper supervision, and staff and camper schedules.
- Directly supervises a team of three Unit Coordinators in resident camp.
- Reports to the Resident Camp Director.
- Works alongside the Program Director and other leadership staff members to ensure high-quality resident camp programming that complies with Colorado state licensing, ACA, and Association standards.
- Assists with ensuring the upkeep of program facilities and equipment alongside other camp leadership.
- Works closely with the Logistics & Communications Coordinator to ensure that frontline summer staff are communicated with daily.
- Lives in yurt, cabin, or glamping tent accommodations.
- Assists with the implementation of seasonal staff orientation.
- Assists with Resident Camp Check In and Out days.
- Assists with Colorado State licensing and inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
- Assists with the evaluations of employed personnel seasonally; observes individual performances and appraises their effectiveness.
- Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and five core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.
- Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants, and the community.
- Supports weekend excursions and activities on and off site for seasonal staff members.
- Drives Y vehicles on and off site as needed.
- Maintains regular and timely communications with supervisor, other Y employees, parents, and school community members.
- Participates in all staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have experience in a range of Camp programs.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Camp operations, program quality and delivery.
- At least 2 years experience working with children in an organized setting.
- Completion of: CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training, and Y vehicle training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- Cleared to drive YMCA vehicles with a clean MVR.
