Member Experience Lead
Location: Kernersville Family YMCA Type: Full-Time
Overview At Kernersville Family YMCA, our mission is to strengthen our community through genuine connections and excellence in service. We are looking for a personable, dynamic Member Experience Lead to drive membership engagement, growth, and retention while ensuring efficient, welcoming operations. This role is essential to setting the standard for exemplary service and embodies our values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Serve as a core member of the MX Leadership Team, modeling YMCA values by greeting every member and fostering a welcoming environment.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Membership/Welcome desk, maintain facility cleanliness, and ensure a safe, neat, and engaging environment for all.
- Staff Training & Support
- Assist with onboarding and training of new hires, providing mentorship and guidance to both full-time and part-time team members.
- Promote operational consistency and excellence through clear communication and hands-on support.
- Membership & Community Engagement
- Conduct facility tours and engage prospective members by clearly communicating the benefits of membership, volunteer opportunities, and available programs.
- Utilize “listen-first” skills to understand member goals and connect them with the right resources, from wellness coaches to community programs.
- Encourage member participation in classes, boot camps, and other group activities to foster deeper community connections.
- Administrative & Financial Accountability
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including processing ID cards, guest passes, and program registrations.
- Oversee inventory management—ensuring ample supplies of coffee, office items, and necessary forms are available.
- Maintain accurate records for petty cash, gift cards, and other financial instruments, promptly reporting discrepancies.
- Continuous Improvement & Community Outreach
- Actively support community-building initiatives by representing the YMCA at onsite and offsite events.
- Provide constructive feedback on member and operational experiences to continually enhance service delivery and engagement strategies.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of two years in a related role.
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service and strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications related to membership administration.
- An outgoing, relationship-oriented personality with a passion for community engagement.
- Proven ability to lead by example in fast-paced, member-focused environments.
- Certifications & Other Requirements:
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Ability to work flexible hours, the shift for this full time position is going to be 12:00pm to 9:00pm.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
