What are the responsibilities and job description for the Newport Mesa-Custodian position at YMCA of Orange County?
The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for an evening Custodian. Custodians are responsible for performing general maintenance and custodial duties. Hours will be Monday - Friday, approx. 2:00pm - 10:00pm. Weekends and events as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Perform facility and equipment inspections, identify maintenance and housekeeping needs.
- Ensure compliance with established procedures, policies and standards related to health and safety. Complete routine risk assessments and correct deficiencies. Report incidents promptly.
- Execute the facility preventative maintenance plan on equipment and structures daily and monthly.
- Assisting with branch program needs via equipment and special event preparation.
- Work as part of the association property team and safety team, on projects and goals.
- Perform maintenance & custodial tasks.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Complete work orders and other paperwork and documentation.
- Maintain maintenance and custodial supplies.
- Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties & responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
Education & Certifications: Must be 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Clean driving record required. Must obtain First Aid & CPR certifications within 60 days of employment.
Experience & Background: 2 years of experience required.
