The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Visual and Performing Arts Lead to join our team!

As an Arts Lead, you will provide assistance in planning and implementing a variety of arts programming. If hired, you will create and maintain class schedules and rosters, provide parents with updates on their children's progress, and lead participants while providing instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare lesson plans for assigned participants and areas of responsibility.
- Provide curriculum development for arts programming.
- Champion diversity and inclusion in all aspects of department, center, and community work.
- Lead participants in the program. Demonstrate activities and provide directions.
- Create a safe, positive and fun environment, and ensure adherence to YMCA policies.
- Keep parents informed of performance and changes pertaining to their child's classes.
- Assist and support leading the arts programs under the directions of program director.
- Provide support for performing arts productions, visual arts exhibitions, and events.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year or more of related experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of child development and classroom or small group management skills.
- Previous experience working with youth, preferably in a program setting and with diverse populations.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to instruct youth classes and program activities including the use of tools and equipment.
- Possess the knowledge and skills needed to support youth staff and classes.
- Food Handlers Permit may be required for specific programs or grant work.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in person training as required.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
Wage: $16.66 to $18.28 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

- Responsible for the implementation of activities within the program.
- Provide curriculum development for arts programming.

- Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
- Staff will be responsible for frequent touchpoint cleaning and sanitizing in specific areas.
