The YMCA of Pueblo is looking for Summer Staff for our resident camp at YMCA Camp Jackson in Rye, Colorado. Camp Jackson Staff live an active outdoor lifestyle. Camp Jackson is looking for an Adventure Camp Cabin Leader who will enthusiastically represent the YMCA by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. Adventure Camp Counselors must embody the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. This position is responsible for leading youth on adventure trips ensuring their emotional and physical safety while helping them develop and grow. All camp staff may assist in the maintenance and housekeeping of camp facilities. This is a seasonal position.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an exciting and safe Adventure Camp program incorporating the YMCA’s values
- Immediately report any safety, health or equipment maintenance problems to the Camp Director upon discovery
- Maintain inventory of necessary equipment / supplies and inform the Camp Director of needed supplies in a timely fashion
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and staff meetings
- Act as a positive role model for campers and other staff, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in the performance of job duties
- Will work as a cabin counselor
- Play an active role in all camp activities
- Will work stay over weekends as assigned
- Evaluate current season and make suggestions for future season
- To perform all other duties as needed or assigned
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required
