Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction and supervision to children 3-5 years of age during large and small group activities
- Provides leadership to supporting staff.
- Applies educational curriculum to the classroom.
- Fosters positive relationships with all children and families through providing age-appropriate discipline that maintains respect for the child and open communication with families.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Posses a cooperative spirit committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants and the community.
- Ability to lead a classroom and staff.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations
- Skilled in organizing and executing age appropriate activities for children.
- Meet one of the following education requirements:
- Current Early Childhood Professional credential level III version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- B.A. in early childhood education
- B.A. in elementary education
- B.A. in special education
- Colorado Director Qualified
