As a Summer Camp Aide, you'll play a vital role in supporting the YMCA's mission to strengthen our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
In this role, you will maintain a supportive and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provides a quality experience for the YMCA Day Camp.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children during camp activities.
- Provide leadership through positive reinforcement and redirection.
- Create a positive rapport and shared interests with all youth, modeling relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all program participants.
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities and games.
- Provide opportunities for youth to lead, problem-solve, and make decisions within the program, fostering personal growth.
- Encourage daily reflection and response to experiences for program participants.
- Attend and actively participate in program activities, staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Fulfill other duties as deemed necessary by the Youth Development Director.
