The Liberty Center YMCA is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Wellness Associate to join our team, dedicated to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a leading nonprofit organization, the Y focuses on nurturing the potential of every individual and fostering a sense of belonging and connection. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our members by providing personalized support, education, and motivation to help them achieve their wellness goals.

As a Wellness Associate, your primary responsibility will be to assist members with their wellness needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment at all times. You will greet members warmly, with a smile and eye contact, and proactively engage with them to understand and anticipate their needs. Your role includes maintaining and inspecting equipment daily to ensure safety, managing first aid supplies, and adhering to YMCA Safety Policies and Procedures. You will counsel members on healthy lifestyle choices, provide regular feedback and motivation, and help them overcome barriers to healthy behavior change.

In addition to your regular duties, you will be responsible for promoting all YMCA programs and services, enhancing members' involvement and sense of ownership in the YMCA community. Accurate record-keeping of members' participation and individual consultations is essential, as is completing incident / accident reports as needed. You will also mentor and supervise volunteers, helping them meet performance objectives and grow in their roles.

We are looking for a candidate who is at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or actively pursuing an equivalent. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality, excellent communication and listening skills, and a solid understanding of health and fitness principles. You must be capable of meeting physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and must obtain YMCA Certified Personal Trainer certification within three months of employment. A commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values-honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring-is essential. CPR and First Aid certification are required within 60 days of hire.

This position offers a starting pay of $12 per hour. The regular shift is on Saturdays from noon to 5 pm, with additional opportunities to substitute for various shifts during the week.
