POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Oversees the total operation of a YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

- You'll support the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention by:
- Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
- Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
- Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
- Meets annual campaign goals.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff through execution of service standards.
- Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
- Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
- Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
- Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/ boards as assigned.
- Establishes a clear emphasis on partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the branch by developing and maintaining effective working relationships within the community.
- Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs, which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
- Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to
the community. - Leads quarterly cabinet meetings as directed by supervisor to support the leaders in the areas of program development, staff training, program quality standards, certifications, and resource development.
- Strategic thinking, planning experience, and exceptional time management abilities. Capable of managing various tasks concurrently and meeting challenging timelines. Achieves key deliverables in the areas of fiscal management, fund development, staff development, volunteer development, and quality results as explained in the branch vital signs documents.
- Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees through the organization, recruitment, and implementation of a Branch Advisory Board to include 1-2 teens and diverse community partners to advise on the overall objectives of the branch.
- Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
- Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming.
- Serves as a member of the YMCA Executive Leadership team, participating in meetings and sharing in Manager on Duty responsibilities.
- Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.
QUALIFICATIONS
- YMCA Multi-team/Branch Leader Certification, preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
- Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Proven success in managing budgets and fiscal resources of $2M or greater.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 90 days.
- Praesidium Academy training.

$65,000-75,000 per year
