Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director, the Bilingual Family Counselor (BFC) supports the ongoing development and implementation of the Family Resource Center, ensuring equitable access to services within the community. The BFC is responsible for providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed support to families, with a focus on strengthening resilience and addressing challenges and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all individuals. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to build trust and collaborate effectively with families and community partners.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct client intake, screening, and interviews to provide counseling, case management, and connections to appropriate resources and services.
- Serve as a liaison between families and local service providers, facilitating access to family counseling and support programs tailored to community needs.
- Assist clients in accessing resources through city agencies, businesses, and community-based organizations.
- Provide individual, couple, and family counseling, as well as group support and crisis intervention services.
- Facilitate one-on-one and group sessions with families and youth, addressing their specific concerns and goals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop Family Service Plans using evidence-based practices and culturally appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with Family Resource Center staff to deliver a holistic and coordinated approach to meeting family needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client outcomes, service plans, and program data in compliance with organizational protocols.
- Complete all required safety and training certifications before the first shift.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Salary Description
Compensation rate of $32.00 to $34.00 per hour. This rate is based on salary benchmarking and aligns with grant fund allocations for the role. Final compensation will be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience, in accordance with grant funding requirements and organizational guidelines.
