MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Current YMCA approved CPR and 1st Aid certification (can complete upon hire)
- Fingerprint background check clearance
- TB Test clearance
- Must be willing to participate in evaluations and supervision meetings as needed
- At Least 2 years of basketball coaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience refereeing and coaching youth sports
- Bi-Lingual skills in English/Spanish, English/Cantonese, English/Mandarin strongly preferred

POSITION SUMMARY
The YMCA Presidio Branch is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Basketball Coach to lead and inspire young athletes during the upcoming basketball season. The ideal candidate will create a safe, structured, and engaging environment where youth can develop their basketball skills, build confidence, and foster a love for the game.
In this role, you will work closely with players and their families to ensure a positive experience, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Coaches are responsible for planning and leading practices, managing games, and maintaining clear communication with parents and guardians. Additionally, coaches may be called upon to serve as referees on game days if there is a shortage, ensuring games can proceed and our youth do not face cancellations.
This part-time position is perfect for someone passionate about basketball and committed to making a difference in the lives of young athletes.
Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Sports Coordinator, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire YBL season from December 1st , 2024 to March 15th, 2025.
This role will require an average of 5 hours per week of training and prep work during the month of December.
Salary Range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
