POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Resident Life Coordinator, this seasonal residential position works with all youth programs to provide quality experiences. Youth Program Specialists will be involved in the daily and / or overnight supervision and education for all camp run residential programs These programs may include specialty camps, after school programs, outdoor science school, and enrichment youth programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Upholds the rules, policies, code of conduct and traditions of YMC Camp Campbell.
- Serve as a good role model in personal language, appearance, communication skills, and health habits to volunteers and participants.
- Supervise children at all time; lives in a cabin with participants as assigned.
- Communicate proactively with staff to ensure the best possible experience for all participants.
- Ensure that all actives are safe, fun and age appropriate.
- Redirect participants' behavior positively and effectively.
- Attend all mandatory trainings, workshops and staff meetings.
- Conduct all assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Host and supervise large group programming.
- Ability to adapt to all activities to meet the physical and behavioral needs of all students.
- Exemplify and monitor good stewardship of facilities.
- Additional duties as assigned.
