Description :
1. Ensures the Female locker rooms, bathrooms, and other areas are attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule. Maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, cleaning, window washing, vacuuming, and general cleaning.
2. Exhibits a positive attitude towards other staff and members.
3. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
4. Ensure personal health by wearing gloves and using cleaning products properly.
5. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
6. May help set up furniture for events.
7. Assist Property Director with preventative maintenance.
8. Assist with general upkeep of the grounds.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Experience preferred in housekeeping of a commercial facility.
Must have a clear understanding of the importance of cleanliness and how it relates to member retention and success of the YMCA.
Must have a clear understanding of the importance of quality customer service.
Must have a caring and positive attitude towards his or her work.
Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities : semi-reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching, kneeling; carrying; working in narrow and / or confining spaces; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and laying on stomach and / or back.
Must be able to comprehend and communicate written and verbal instructions.
