The Narwhals Swim Team is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Summer League Swim Coach to lead and guide swimmers of all skill levels. This position requires a dynamic individual who excels in teaching, leadership, and coordination to foster an environment of growth, teamwork, and fun. The coach will be responsible for creating a positive and supportive atmosphere that allows swimmers to develop their skills, build confidence, and perform to the best of their abilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Skill Development:
- Provide instruction on swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, and competitive swimming strategies for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Create daily practice plans that focus on skill improvement, fitness, and race preparation.
- Use clear, concise, and effective communication to explain drills, techniques, and strategies to swimmers.
- Offer individualized feedback and encouragement to swimmers during practices and meets.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Inspire and motivate swimmers to reach their full potential both in and out of the pool.
- Foster a positive team environment where respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork are emphasized.
- Lead by example and be a role model for swimmers in terms of attitude, dedication, and work ethic.
- Develop a sense of team unity and camaraderie among swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches.
- Meet Coordination & Logistics:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of swim meets, including scheduling, travel logistics, and event management.
- Ensure swimmers are prepared for meets with appropriate training, warm-ups, and mental readiness.
- Collaborate with other coaches and team members to ensure smooth execution of swim meets and events.
- Maintain team records, attendance, and meet results to track swimmer progress.
- Communication & Parent Interaction:
- Maintain open and clear communication with parents about team expectations, schedules, and swimmer progress.
- Provide regular updates on practice schedules, meet results, and any changes to team logistics.
- Be approachable and available for discussions with parents regarding swimmer development or any concerns.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably with youth or summer league swim teams.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and competitive strategies.
- Ability to teach and communicate effectively with swimmers of all skill levels.
- Ability to swim and demonstrate all four competitive strokes with confidence.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate swimmers.
- Ability to work effectively with a team of coaches and volunteers.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills for coordinating practices, meets, and team events.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
- USA swimming certification.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
