What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer in Freeport position at YMCA of Southern Maine?
Under the direction and supervision of the Membership Relationship Builder or Membership Director the Volunteer will assist in a designated program by building relationships with program participants and staff while helping with tasks to run the program effectively.
Essential functions:
1. Perform excellent service to all members, staff, volunteers and guests.
2. Build relationships by using names and initiating conversations with members, staff, volunteers and guests.
3. Communicate with supervisor, staff,members, guests,and volunteers in a clear, concise and positive manner.
4. Understands supports and is committed to the YMCA cause and our role in the community as a leader in Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
5. Understands, follows and demonstrates the Y Competencies.
6. Act as a positive role model while implementing YMCA character development and following the four core values of Caring,Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
7. Follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the YMCA of Southern Maine Employee Policy Manual.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned by the departmental Program Director.
9. A high degree of tact and discretion is required.
10. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws if applicable.
11. Attend a volunteer orientation.
12. Other duties as required.
