POSITION SUMMARY:
Participates in day-to-day programming of off-site before school programs, as well as homework assistance, academic enrichment, and family engagement events. Assists with administrative tasks related to running before and afterschool programs. This position requires high energy, enthusiasm for YMCA’s mission, strong administrative skills, and attention to detail.
LOCATION AND HOURS:
This position will work in the before school program at Vegas Vista elementary on weekdays from 6:30am - 8:30am, then will travel to the nearby Heinrich YMCA to support administrative functions from 8:30am - 10:30am. This position will be a total of 20 hours per week (4 hour per day Monday - Friday).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Participates in regular trainings, meetings, and staff development;
2. Ensures proper implementation of the YMCA of Southern Nevada’s Youth Development policies and procedures;
3. Works closely with supervisors, school administration, parents, and teachers to implement strategies for student success;
4. Ensures students sign in and out of the program daily;
5. Ensures activities are delivered as intended;
6. Maintains a safe and secure site location with established emergency procedures;
7. Working with small groups and/or individual students;
8. Implements fun and engaging after school activities
9. Supports classroom and behavior management consistently to develop a safe and productive learning environment;
10. Supports administrative functions related to running before and afterschool programming.
11. Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Experience working in out-of-school-time programming, preferably within underserved communities
2. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, preferred
3. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
4. Academic skills –proficiency in elementary math and literacy.
5. Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse populations.
6. Ability to build relationships with staff, students and families
7. Excellent organizational and communication skills
8. Love and respect for children.
9. Working with Children within 30 days of hire.
10. Current American Red Cross Certifications in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire
Salary : $14 - $15
