POSITION SUMMARY:
We are now looking for an Assistant Site Coordinator to help with the management of the Parson's Power Scholars Site for the summer. This position runs from May 1 - June 30th. It will be a 40 hour per week position (8am - 4pm) at $16-$17/ hour.
Assists with management of the overall daily operations of the Parson Elementary 21st Century Community Learning Center. Responsible for staff management and development, programmatic impact, grant implementation, reporting, and community outreach. This position requires high energy, enthusiasm for YMCA’s mission, and flexibility. The 21st Century program will operate remotely until CCSD school buildings reopen, at which point the program will operate at Parson Elementary School.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with managing and implementing the 21st Century grant;
- Participates in regular trainings, meetings, and staff development;
- Ensures proper implementation of the YMCA of Southern Nevada’s Youth Development policies and procedures;
- Works closely with supervisors, school administration, parents, and teachers to develop strategies for student success;
- Ensures staff and students have all materials and physical space needed for successful program implementation;
- Ensures staff and students sign in and out of the program daily;
- Monitors program data (collection and entry), attendance, and outcomes;
- Ensures activities are delivered as intended under the approved funding application;
- Maintains a safe and secure site location with established emergency procedures;
- Communicates daily with school teachers and administrators, program staff, students, parents, and key stakeholders;
- Maintains a direct connection to the regular school day; and
- Establishes positive action plans that address specific needs of students.
- Performs all other duties, as assigned.
ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attends required abuse risk management training.
- Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
LEADERSHIP:
- Creates a strong presence and fosters a relationship with the staff and administration at Parson Elementary School.
- Oversees all part time staff and volunteers.
- Regularly communicates with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participates in school and community events that correlate with the goals and objectives of the 21st Century grant.
- Regularly communicates progress and development of the program with the Youth and Family Coordinator.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or higher in education or related field, preferred
- 1-2 years of experience facilitating out-of-school-time programming, preferably within underserved communities
- 1 year of supervisory experience, preferred
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Prior experience with grant management, preferred
- Working with Children within 30 days of hire.
- Current American Red Cross Certifications in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire

Salary : $16 - $17
