Overview
Under the general supervision of the Senior Youth Development Director, the Summer Director is responsible for the operation of Day Camp and/ or resident camp of the YMCA of Superior California. General administrative duties include staff recruitment, selection, training, supervision, recognition, and fiscal management of respective department, promotion, marketing, program development and quality control. This is a seasonal position.
The general season dates are June 9th 2025 through July 25th 2025.
- No program on June 19th or the week of July 4th.
- The program runs Monday- Friday.
- The program runs from 7am to 6pm, but the Director's hours are expected to be around 9am to 6pm, subject to change.
Responsibilities
- Fiscal Management, monitor and control annual budget for program.
- Human Resource Management Recruit, select, orients, train, supervise all staff necessary.
- Program Management; ensure quality and excellence in program services.
- Promote programs to meet targeted enrollments.
- Manage registration.
- Facility Management; supervise and monitor effective utilization of facility resources.
- Monitor safety, cleanliness, preventative maintenance and repairs for program areas.
- Develop and establish positive relationships within the community, organizations, companies, and agencies to interpret the YMCA Mission.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree or appropriate professional certification.
- Minimum of 25 years old.
- Minimum 1 seasons of administrative or supervisory experience in organized camp.
- Minimum 2 years of camp and youth programs with related age group.
- Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding.
- Completion of the YMCA of Superior California Pre and Post-Employment Checklist
