POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Camp Reed Program Coordinator plans, organizes, and oversees Camp Reed programs, supplies, and specialty programs. The Camp Reed Program Coordinator assists the Camp Reed Senior Director, Summer Director, and Program Director as needed to ensure an educational, recreational and creative summer camp experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assist in the development and management of the Junior Counselor program, Counselor-in-Training program, minicamp program, horse program and units, and other camp activities as assigned.
- Supervise program staff alongside Camp Reed Directors and foster a welcoming, inclusive team culture for staff, volunteers, and program participants.
- Assist Camp Directors with purchasing camp program supplies, managing supply inventories, and purchasing Camp Store merchandise for resale to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners to provide Special Programs and events, including Horse Heritage and Pride Cup.
- Assist Directors with camper support by addressing and resolving behavior challenges, interpersonal conflicts, or special needs accommodations of campers.
- Knows, reviews, and applies all safety, emergency, and child abuse prevention policies and procedures, supplies leadership and documentation of events, and responds to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA protocol.
- Provide office support by managing camp-related documentation, including camper registrations, incident reports, and attendance records.
- Provide customer service and support to program participants and families, staff, and camp partners by addressing inquiries and concerns via phone, e-mail and in person.
- Assists with Camp Reed Fundraising needs and goals, including the Camp Reed Auction
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude that reflects the core values of the YMCA : honesty, respect, responsibility and caring and a positive cooperative relationship with other staff, third parties and program participants.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

STARTING PAY : $18.00-$19.00 / hour (depending on experience)
