POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Custodian creates and maintains a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for all members to enjoy. The Custodian follows all instructions on equipment use, chemicals, and scheduling to facilitate enjoyment at the YMCA for all members and staff alike.
Scheduling : Saturday and Sunday, 0-19 hours / week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Ensures Y facility and equipment is attractive, clean, and sanitary for member and staff use by wet and dust mopping, dusting, window washing, vacuuming, floor cleaning, trash removal, bathroom / fixture cleaning, seasonal activities related to snow removal, and general cleaning.
- Completes all duties scheduled, replaces supplies when necessary, and maintains upkeep of custodial area and equipment.
- Records, and reports all needed repairs as directed
- Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, or ladders to prepare facilities for special events.
