- Inspect the generator, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting systems ensuring all systems are functioning properly in accordance with applicable codes.
- Ensures the Y facility and equipment is attractive, clean, and sanitary for member and staff use by wet and dust mopping, dusting, window washing, vacuuming, floor cleaning, trash removal, bathroom/fixture cleaning, and other general cleaning tasks.
- Operate and maintain all HVAC mechanical equipment, fitness equipment, landscape maintenance operations, and complete other facility repairs as needed.
- Directs cold weather maintenance and operations, including snow removal and de-icing of facility walkways and parking lots.
- Maintain the building security system to ensure a safe atmosphere for staff and members and reduce property damage at the facility.
- Reports maintenance and safety issues to the Facilities Director and Branch Executive promptly and provides recommendations for repair.
- Assist in the coordination of outside contractors and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 18.
- One year experience preferred in a like facility, commercial building, or building maintenance.
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. On the job training is available.
- Familiar with all job safety requirements such as PPE and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).
- Completes all YMCA required training upon hire
