POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The School Age Multi-Site Supervisor maintains a supportive, positive learning atmosphere for youth to participate in. The School Age Multi-Site Supervisor continuously ensures activities are appealing and connecting with youth in the community, and that staff are supporting and nurturing participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Oversees multiple school age programs, and supports locations by shopping for necessary supplies, maintaining employee and child records, serving as a substitute for staff when needed, and setting schedules for observations and program events to serve excited school age children.
- Assists School Age Program Director with recruiting, hiring, and scheduling of staff, while coaching and supporting staff through relationship-building modeled in programming
- Plans and operate a day camp during summer months, and for days when school is not in session
- Creates a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for program participants, making ADA accommodations where appropriate.
- Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child’s needs and progress, connecting families to the YMCA.
- Assists in administering staff training and completes own requirements, assists in the development and evaluation of staff, and encourages employees to set and achieve goals throughout their employment.
- Follows all safety, emergency, and child abuse prevention policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law, state licensing and the Y. Reports and maintain proper documentation of incidents / accidents as they occur.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Previous experience supervising staff preferred.
