Become a Lifeguard
As a Lifeguard at the YMCA, you'll be responsible for:
- Explaining and enforcing safety regulations and rules to ensure a safe environment for all swimmers.
- Monitoring for any safety hazards and assisting in poolside activities.
- Remaining rescue-ready at all times, implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
- Assessing swimming capabilities of individuals in the aquatic area to ensure they are safe.
- For Swim Instructors, providing structured lessons following the YUSA curriculum.
- Participating in training and shadowing shifts as part of your onboarding process.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

At least 2 years of lifeguard experience

Current certifications in Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Pro CPR, First Aid and Oxygen, or willing to obtain
