What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Day Camp - Summer Counselor position at YMCA of the Northern Sky?
Camp Koda is a Day Camp located at the Schlossman YMCA. Camp Koda at the Y provides a fun and unique weekly experience for our childcare & community campers (ages 6 to 11).
The YMCA is hiring Counselors to assist our Enrichment & Camp Coordinator in leading our summer day camp activities. As a Counselor, you will participate in activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, nature walks, field trips, music, science experiments, sports, cultural exploration, and more. We also take a trip to YMCA Camp Cormorant to experience the traditional camping atmosphere and try out the ropes course, water activities, horseback riding, and more!
Youth Day Camp - Counselor:
- Responsible for the direct supervision and safety of the children (ages 6 to 11) in the camp program
- Available to answer parent/caregiver questions.
- Help campers adjust to camp by introducing them to new friends and facilitating positive peer-to-peer interactions
- Create a positive and nurturing relationship with the children, while building cooperative relationships with their parents/caregivers
Training starts June 2nd and programming goes until August 29th. (You will get June 30th - July 4th off)
